Villa Radun Home

Villa Radun Home sits on a hillside above Kaštel Stari, defined by raw concrete canopies, local limestone, and floor-to-ceiling glass that opens the entire living area toward the pool terrace. The views unfold in two directions: the Adriatic and islands toward Split on one side, and the green slopes of Kozjak on the other. Inside, the open-plan living space is centred around a three-sided glass fireplace, with bedrooms extending quietly to either side. Everything about the architecture feels horizontal, minimal, and designed to frame the landscape.

Concrete, glass, and framed views

With glass walls on both sides, the villa shifts character throughout the day depending on the direction of the light – morning sun from the seaside, and warmer afternoon light on the mountain-facing pool deck. I photographed both orientations, moving from the living area looking out toward the coast to the pool terrace backed by Kozjak. The outdoor kitchen and stone fireplace were styled twice as well: once for a relaxed breakfast scene, and again at twilight for dinner with the fire lit.

Planning around the final light

The client was Vip Holiday Booker, a luxury villa rental agency. The shoot extended across two days, mainly because of the twilight scenes. With only about twenty usable minutes each evening, it was impossible to capture everything in a single session — ground-level pool images, the styled outdoor dinner setup, and the aerial frames each needed their own time slot. Planning the sequence in advance and preparing compositions during the day made those short windows count. For a property like this, the transition into evening – when the lights come on and the pool begins to glow against the mountain backdrop – is the moment that defines the final visual identity of the project.
