Hotel Tamaris

Hotel Tamaris is a beachfront aparthotel in Tučepi, right on the pebble shore with mighty Biokovo rising behind it. Photographs had to cover everything – from penthouse terraces with private jacuzzis and the palm-framed pool deck to rooms and apartments with sea-view balconies and full kitchens.

The shoot took place in October, under the kind of perfect calm weather that is so typical of Dalmatia as summer turns to autumn. The sea was completely still for days, and a light morning mist gave parts of the series a soft, dreamy feel. As the day opened up, the air stayed calm, the light remained clean, and there was not a breath of wind — ideal conditions for the exterior and pool shots, while the interiors filled with warm natural light.

A big part of this project was showing the location itself – the proximity of the beach, the views from every balcony, the way Biokovo frames every angle. The aerials told that story best: from above you see how the building sits tucked between pine trees and shoreline, how the pool connects to the promenade, how close the sea really is. On the rooftop at sunset with Biokovo turning pink behind the jacuzzi, the place practically photographs itself. Those are the frames that sell a hotel before anyone reads a single word.
