Designed for Privacy, Open to the View — A House in Sutivan, Brač
This contemporary house in Sutivan, on the island of Brač, is defined by a thoughtful architectural approach to privacy and openness. Although located within a residential area, the interplay of exterior walls and the distinctive roof structure creates a sense of enclosure while remaining open to light, views, and outdoor space.
While photographing the house, I was particularly drawn to this architectural balance – how walls and roof guide movement, frame space, and connect the interior with the semi-covered pool and outdoor areas. Alongside the clean lines and seamless indoor–outdoor transitions, my focus was on capturing the spatial flow and the character of the house, while keeping in mind both its architectural intent and how the space will be experienced by future guests.
